Pastoral Care

Our Minister is available for pastoral support with the help of our Parish Councillors. We also do referrals to appropriate care-givers and helping agencies.

Baptisms, Thanksgivings, Weddings, Funerals.

By arrangement with our minister.

Food Bank

We support the Te Atatu Peninsula Community Food Bank located at the C.A.R.E Waitakere House, 64 Waipani Road, Te Atatu Peninsula

Op Shop                     9.30 am  – 2.30pm  Monday – Saturday

We offer the cheapest re-cycled clothing on the Peninsula along with household goods, books toys etc.

Saturday Morning Prayer Group  6am.

Every second Tuesday 7pm at Church

Bible Studies

Tuesday nights 7pm  Mafuta Tatalo

Friday Morning Community Tea & Coffee , 10am – 12noon.

Free tea, coffee & snack & a chat – open to anyone in the community.

Taikata Outreach – Painting Classes

Each Monday 0900 – 1200 – painting classes for budding and established artists – in support of people suffering mental disorders.

Children’s Ministry : Age-Range: Primary School to Intermediate

10am every Sunday morning – starts in church with All-Age worship and then proceeds to Children’s Study Programme in Hall or rooms. Parents are free to join the children.

Our teachers use studies based on the Three-year Lectionary a 3-year cycle of Bible readings used by many churches. We are currently using the “Beginners Bible ” DVD series. Our teachers and helpers try to make the lessons as fun and as interesting as they can .

Every first Sunday each month the Sunday School & Youth Group join the whole parish family for an All-Age Holy Communion where they play an active part.

Every Fourth Sunday of the month, the Youth and Sunday School lead our Praise & Worship in the 10am service.

Each year we celebrate ‘Children’s Sunday’ , and some of the cultural festivals of the cultures represented in our Church.

Special activities are also organized through out the year.

Police Vetting: All of our teachers and helpers are Police – vetted to ensure the safety of our children and elderly.

Youth Ministry : Age Range: 12 – 30. with age-appropriate lessons and activities

Our Youth Group meets 10am each Sunday and start with All-Age worship before going to their activities. They are currently using video material called, “The Bible Project” a set of studies about Jesus’ life and teachings. The short movies provide talking points around issues of faith and life.

Sports. We also take part in a local Touch – Rugby competition which is for teenagers upwards. We represent our Church in this competition.

Activities. Our outside activities have included the Paintball Challenge; and other fun activities.

Links with other Youth Groups. We also support Youth services and activities organized by the Regional Methodist and Presbyterian Youth Coordinators.

Wider Ministry

Social Services. We also support the work of the Methodist and Presbyterian Social Services. Splice & Lifewise & Presbyterian Support Northern. We also support the Community Food Bank at Waitakere CARE , Waipani Road Te Atatu Peninsula.

Global Mission. Through our National Church offices we support global missions to the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Myanmar, North India and a network of churches throughout Asia and the Pacific . We are affiliated to the Council for World Mission.

Christian World Service (CWS)Appeal Each year we raise a special donation for Christian World Service  and also support their response to local and international disasters and emergencies.
